Ponce-Bici

Ponce-Bici is the result of a functional facade exercise within a historical context. The site is located in Isabel street within a few minutes of the well-known “Plaza Las Delicias” in Ponce, Puerto Ricoand its surroundings are rich in Colonial-style architecture and urbanism. The proposal acquired a simplistic appearance by seeking alignment with existing neighboring buildings to determine the appropriate heights and identifying different sequences of rhythm and repetition present throughout the street, resulting in a contemporary building that responds to a void in the cityscape and the need for alternative methods of transportation.
